Thought I’d mix it up a little so here’s a different topic for today!
I’m by no means brilliant at always ‘eating clean’, but I do generally try my best to go with the healthiest options, and work out 4 or 5 times a week. In fact, fitness has become a fairly important part of my life over the last year or so, and therefore it seems only fitting to include snippets on this ‘lifestyle’ blog. Â Might give me more incentive to really kick my ass into gear! Â ‘Find a fitness buddy’ is on every top 10 tips, so you lot can be my virtual motivation right?
Since IÂ was 3 I’ve taken weekly ballet, tap and modern dance classes, and I rode my horse roughly 5 times a week throughout my childhood, but my real interest in fitness, so to speak, started with a Blogilates video I stumbled across back in 2011. Â For a while, the odd couple of videos when I felt like it was about the extent of my interest. Â More recently (as in over the past year as a half) I’ve been discovering more, and more, and more workout channels and I’ve become pretty addicted! Â FitnessBlender are my current favourites. I’m the easily bored type when it comes to this type of thing, so I’m constantly switching between HIIT, weights, cardio, Pilates and whatever else depending on what takes my fancy. I’m a naturally early riser so leaping around the living room before school with my Nikes and dumbbells works best for me, although sometimes late night sweaty sessions can be fun!
During the summer I really enjoyed running too (10k in about 51 minutes – I definitely want to run a proper race sometime!) but my enthusiasm has dampened slightly after I was pebbledashed with hailstones on my last run! Â Safe to say I was rocking the drowned rat look after that one. Â Lack of daylight makes it pretty difficult too as I don’t much fancy cold dark runs, so I’m sticking with indoors for the most part now.
Probably my best feature- and I’m not bothered about saying so – is my naturally small waist. Therefore I really been working on making the most of my natural shape and training abs like crazy!  Dan and I have been going to an abs class at my local gym for a little while now; its kinda fun and torturous at the same time if you get what I mean.  My abs are showing through a bit more these days so it’s clearly working 😀  This may well change after christmas haha, but I’ll try my best to stay kind of on track whilst indulging in a mince pie or 20! Unlike many people I don’t have a particular goal in mind and I have no idea what I weigh; just keeping in shape in general is most important to me! Sounds incredibly cliché but I genuinely do feel better when I’ve got a good morning workout in, and the opposite if I’ve eaten a few too many crappy foods a day. I’m just really glad that I realised this by age 16 and so will hopefully carry on into the future!
Let me know if you’ve liked this little diversion from my usual topics, and if you’d like to hear more along these lines! I’m thinking a ‘my favourite healthy meals’ or ‘my favourite YouTube workouts’ maybe?

P.S. this post was totally inspired by Catherine! Â I highly recommend you head over to her blog for her post on keeping fit at all ages. Â Just be careful not to get too sucked in and spend an hour browsing her old posts like I did 😉

20th November 2013 at 4:39 pmLily you are so inspirational for such a young girl – you absolutely have your head in the right place… something I didn’t do until I was about 30. Well done for having such a positive attitude towards fitness and your body (I’m a lover of my own little waist as well)!
I’d love you to share your positivity on my Facebook page – called the Accentuate the Positive Project, it encourages women to share their best bits and be proud to say what they like about themselves. You can upload a photo (the one you’ve used here would be GREAT, but you choose whatever photo/feature you like) on the timeline and say what feature of yours you love:
https://www.facebook.com/AccentuateThePositiveProject
Hope to see you there and it would be lovely if you shared it too! Thanks so much for the mention sweetie 🙂
