I made a summer ‘things to do’ wishlist, knowing full well summer would last a maximum of 10 days. Now to make one for the other 355. I’m saying ‘wishlist’ because odds are I won’t even do half of them, but what’s the harm in wishin’ eh?
Go for winter walks. Proper walks, not just nipping to the shop for milk or whatever. I’m all about being outdoorsy in summer (Canyoning, anyone?) but usually forget about it over winter. Too bloody cold! I feel like I should wrap up warm and spend a day exploring at least once though. Just not a rainy day. Cold, I can deal with. I did my Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition in a blizzard, and sleeping in a tent in 4 inches of snow was NOT fun, I tell you! [ETA: it STILL hasn’t stopped raining 3 days after I wrote this, so probably shouldn’t hold out much hope…]
Master nighttime photography. Might as well stop stressing about 2 minutes of daylight and just get on with it hadn’t I? Especially as I’m typing this at 10am and it’s erm, dark outside. Go away grey skies. I’d like some crisp winter days please. But yes, I think I need to get my head around that dimly lit, cosy photography style that some master oh-so-well indoors. With my new camera (that I’m DEFO not going to shut up about) I’m really hoping to up my photography game.
Christmas party. Hands up who reads all the stuff about christmas party dresses and sequins and all that jazz, then doesn’t actually attend any? You older lot might have the works’ Christmas Do, but I feel like us college kids definitely need something this year too!
Do Christmas shopping early (ish). Not early by some peoples’ standards because I’d need to have started 2 months ago and well, I haven’t. Don’t wanna leave it until the last minute week though. It’s just not as enjoyable when you’re battling the crowds and scavenging for the best goodies left. Takes the fun out of anything if you’re in a rush. Be nice to just browse at a leisurely pace and pick up stuff I’m really excited to give to family and friends.
Restart my fitness routine. Now that my internship for Tomorrow’s Engineers Week is over, I’ve more free time again to hit the gym. The lead up to Christmas isn’t exactly prime time for getting back in shape, but I’m gonna give it my best shot nonetheless! I know I haven’t exactly gotten huge but I’ve lost some tone and my general fitness definitely isn’t what it was 3 months ago. Sigh. I’m gonna try to not let the cold, wind and rain stop me from making it to the gym!
Decorate my bedroom christmassy. It’ll be my first Christmas in this house and I’m looking forward to adding a few festive touches to my bedroom! I’ve never put a tree up in my bedroom before but I think a little one could look cute. And some fairy lights maybe, because I am your no.1 cliche after all.
… bit of a festive theme going on here, oops…
Hibernate. Ish. Not really disappear for a few months, but I 100% need to catch up on sleep! I haven’t had too many crazy late nights, but I definitely haven’t had 8 hours in a long while. Might as well catch up whilst it’s dark and miserable outside anyway – I feel like winter’s the time to do it. 🙂
Explore somewhere new. I feel like I’ve written something along those lines in every ‘wishlist’ post, but usually with summer in mind. New places still exist in winter though! Somebody recommend somewhere for a day trip. 🙂
