swingy black and over the knees | OOTD

No I’m not that level of fashionista that wears over the knee boots for a stroll down the road!  I actually wore this outfit to an 18th birthday.  Loose jersey doesn’t exactly scream partayyy but I think the chunky gold against a the polo neck glams it up a little.  And it’s so comfy!  I can swing and twirl to my hearts content (without bending over that is, it’s rather on the short side).  This is my only actual LBD (!), from Coco Boo Boutique in Preston.  As mentioned in my birthday post, everything in Coco Boo is so pretty,  so I was spoilt for choice.

Tall girl benefits: wearing flats to a party and being the same height as most girls in heels!  Given the choice between teetering in heels 5 inches taller than my boyfriend and everyone else, or wearing flats and avoiding the dreaded painful feet, I’d choose the latter any day.  Especially when they’re reasonably dressy like these; I felt quite 60s Twiggy somehow!  OK so maybe not quite, (did Twiggy even wear over the knees?) but I can pretend.  Would be nice to have a heels wearing occasion sometime soon though!

Lipstick is Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in ‘Non Stop Red’.  It’s stayed put without reapplying for a good 5 hours tonight – even through a Nando’s and fro-yo for another friend’s birthday it did not budge!  Maybelline aren’t lying when they say ‘super stay’. Taking blog photos is such a challenge these days, with the sun shining for only about half an hour before and after school.  This was possibly the most rushed 5 minute shoot my mum and I have ever done.  Damn you fading light!
