remember me?

Lily here.  First blog post of the year and it’s almost July! Things have slowed down a little over the past year design wise and my life has gotten busier, but I’m pleased to say that I have a few designs coming soon hopefully. Whilst I’ve been a missing person in the blogosphere recently I have had a couple of designs released in the latest Fyberspates Scrumptious collection, which we had great fun shooting in the Cotswolds last summer.

The first of which is the Lyde Beret, worked in Jeni’s exceptionally soft Scrumptious DK/Worsted. Doesn’t Caroline make such a perfect model with her lovely red hair?

Some of you may remember Middleton, which I designed to coincide with the royal wedding back in 2012. Here it is renamed as the Lea Cardigan in the Fyberspates collection, and as you can see it can be worn buttoned at the front or back.

During our time in the Cotswolds I spent a day with Jeni in Fyberspates HQ, trying my hand at dying and generally discovering the ins and outs of production.

So what else have I been up to in the past few months?
In the Easter holidays I spent a week in southern Germany, and had a lovely time relaxing and visiting amazing cities such as Munich and Augsburg. Swimming in a boiling hot open air swimming pool in the cold and rain was also a fun experience whilst there! Lucky for me I am going again to Germany in August:D

Back in England I’ve been completing my Duke of Edinburgh bronze award, which has involved voluntary work in a local primary school, horse riding, and photography in addition to a practice expedition earlier in the year. Blizzard weather conditions made for an interesting experience walking 20 or so miles and sleeping in a tent! I have my final expedition in a fortnight so fingers crossed we’ll have better weather for this one.

My main time eater in the last few months has been revising for exams, which are now finally over. Only a few weeks remaining of school until we’ll be heading down to Cornwall, to enjoy a week of surfing and splashing around in the sea.

Can’t post an update without mentioning this guy, my boyfriend Dan who I’ve been with for about 7 months now:D Haven’t taught him to knit yet!

There you are! I’m blaming it on Dan. 😉 Designs look great and hope you are able to get back to this space now that school and volunteer work are nearly complete!

Yay! You’ve surfaced! I’ve been wondering what’s been keeping you away. Glad to see you’re doing well!
