under the pier

A finished project that isn’t pink or white, who’d have thought?  My mum and I have been determined to use up some of the yarn lying around, hence the number of cropped tops and camis.  Dainty straps a la 1990s are one of my favourite ss14 trends – easy way of having (almost) bare shoulders without the hassle of strapless tops, really.  Strapless is too much like hard work. :P  This pattern (from ‘Romantic Style’ by Jennie Atkinson)  has separately knit bust cups, so fits perfectly without hanging like a tent like other camis I’ve tried on.  Can’t make a 2D object hang right on a 3D person y’know!

My mum and I had fancied shooting under the pier for a while and finally gave it a shot last night, providing much entertainment for the lads up on the pier that’s for sure.  Made us laugh too tbh. 😀

White pants because it’s summer and everyone has to have white pants for summer.  I remember as a kid getting that one pair of white ‘going out’ trousers that I’d grow out of every year (if I didn’t stain them with tomato sauce before then), but I’d like to think this jogger-style pair are an update on the wide legs I wore 10 years ago.  Was a sight to see, I tell you. ;)  These ones are from Primark and are ridiculously comfy, and plenty long enough for my 5’11 frame which is a bonus!

You may have noticed the mini makeover JoliHouse has had this weekend… still very much a work in progress but I prefer the new look for now.  I’m thinking a few more splashes of colour wouldn’t go amiss and I’ll definitely play around with the pages.  from what I’ve done so far I definitely don’t envy a graphic designer’s job!  Computers can be so annoying sometimes, grrr.  Let me know what you think!
