I’m not usually one for black, but I swear it’s filling a good two-thirds of every shelf at the minute so is pretty unavoidable I guess! Dark clothes for Autumn/Winter? Never. I am actually quite liking the monochrome thing this time round, but it’s rare that I’d go colour free! The day I wear all black isn’t approaching any time soon, I won’t go that far. Tights with black cats on today too, like it’s Halloween next month or something?!?
This week I also broke my (self-imposed) outfit rule of no tights between April and October, shock horror. What is the world coming to? Not that said rule is based on anything, other than the reluctance to say bye bye to summer. This skirt was an August purchase that had yet to see the light of day, but even I wasn’t brave enough for totally bare legs today. Of course, I’m British, what else could I possibly do but make everything about the weather? That’s one stereotype I can wholeheartedly agree with. Particularly in this most bipolar of Septembers, when a freezing cold bus stop in the morning is almost as bad as a stuffy classroom by midday. I’m not even gonna say that I wish the weather would quit with the indecision, because that means cold and I am just not feeling that one bit. Dreading leaving the house in the dark in the mornings and coming home in the dark in the evenings, not gonna lie!

Eyeliner game strong today, even if I do say so myself! Always a good day when the ‘flick’ is the same on both eyes haha. Girls you know what I mean. 😉
Time to ramble on about my week too. Despite leaving school just a few months ago, a few of my friends and I popped in for a visit after college on Tuesday. Being there was kinda strange – we all said we still felt like we had a place there, but that it felt like a primary school by comparison to college now.  Loved seeing all my old teachers though! AS levels are going well so far too, luckily. Textiles I love to bits (an hour spent on a sewing machine is an hour well spent in my book); maths hasn’t gotten too hard yet and I’m really enjoying it; physics I like too; the different learning style in history is taking some getting used to but all is well, I think (hope). Ironically after Wednesday’s post about the bootcamp I tried, I’ve managed to twinge something in my hip doing exercise in my dining room. Not whilst out being adventurous of course, that would be far too obvious. Anybody else found that their hips crack and pop a lot when doing abs exercises? Not sure I should be cracking quite this much at my age… ah well.
Hope you’ve all had a great week!

28th September 2014 at 7:22 pmWhat a wonderfully cute casual outfit for this transitional period – and I’m glad you broke the tights rule as they’re really adding a great touch. I love the feminine skirt with the more masculine denim gilet. And I think I’m probably a fair bit older than you, but have been cracking since about age 15 so I’m hoping its ok!!

28th September 2014 at 11:32 pmYes, I get those hip cracks and pops too. But all my joints are sort of loose (knees that can bend sideways a bit, creepily flexible shoulders, that sort of thing) and I did gymnastics for 10 years, so I’m not sure if I’m a good reference for that sort of thing. 😛 I hope your hip feels better soon!

30th September 2014 at 7:23 pmOh I’m with you on the weird joints! I can bend my left arm all the way behind my head and my thumb bends back to 90 degrees, it’s really quite strange!
Thanks for commenting!

15th October 2014 at 9:47 amOh crikey lilllyyyyyyy you look beautiful! I love the silhouette you’ve created in this outfit, and your hair styled like that looks very classic. It really works with a skirt like that – I love it. Very feminine and sexy but actually still very covered and I think that’s the sexiest way anyone can dress. Especially those tights – mama your legs!!!
