maxi dress comfort

Teen wearing summer off the shoulder maxi dres

Evenin’ folks.  How’s your weekend been?  Mine’s passed all too quickly but involved afternoon tea for brunch and that’s never a bad thing.  Rather than throw more Majorca pics your way (that would just make me sad, I want to go back so much), here’s a thoroughly more relatable backdrop this time.  In the form of a very green, very leafy park.  I can guarantee this ones 100% English – complete with downpours and all.  My maxi dress and sandals were briefly appropriate this morning, promise.

Once the summery maxi dress was no longer appropriate (ie. when it started bucketing down and temperatures went arctic this afternoon) I switched into a fetching attire of joggers and tshirt, but tbh I was probably comfier in the maxi.  LOVE me a maxi dress for ultimate comfort.  No waistband or buttons or uncomfy zips, what could be better?  I mean, I know this one does have an elasticated waistband, but you can hardly feel it so it’s basically a tarted up pretty nightie.  And I am all about that idea.  Travel outfit?  Maxi dress.  Comfy-at-home-but-half-presentable outfit?  Maxi dress.  Going out for a meal outfit? Maxi dress (with heels.  Maybe.  If you’re pushing the boat out.).  This one will definitely be coming with me on our family holiday to France this summer.

I’ve a feeling bardot necklines are gonna be one of those things that we look back on in 20 years and say ‘remember when literally zero clothes had shoulders in them?’.  Kind of like how mullets scream 80s, but hopefully without quite the cringe factor (apologies to any former mullet owners).  Seriously though, bardot necklines are everywhere.  I have several myself, and don’t think I’ll tire of them anytime soon!  Only downside is the strapless bra requirement (god I hate those things) but you win some, you lose some.  I’ll suffer the strapless bra in favour of the lacy bardot cuteness.

Since my weekend did fly by all too quickly I’ve now realised that I’ll be sitting a physics exam in 10 hours time (please be kind AQA, I beg) so now would maybe be a good time to get some shut-eye or something.  Not wearing my maxi dress/glorified nightie FYI, even though it’d be comfy enough to.  Nightynight!

Interesting weather you are having! It is best to have a cool night and day for your exam, and then get those summery temperatures for later. Here it was boiling hot and I do not think I will be able to work tomorrow. I have that sweaty thighs stuck to synthetic fabric rolling chair kind of work day planned for tomorrow. Or maybe I will not really get much done.

It sure is! Such a typical English summer to be boiling hot one week then freezing and rainy the next. I guess hot days aren’t the best for productivity are they! Oh well, you enjoy it 😀

That dress is beautiful! I have a bad relationship with maxi dresses – petite ones are too short for me, at 5ft 2.5, and regular length ones are like tents. Forever jealous of tall ladies who can rock them! Good luck with the exam x

It’s so pretty isn’t it! I have a bit of a love hate relationship with them for the opposite reason – it’s a pain in the ass finding one long enough! Although I guess you can kinda get away with a too-short one than a too-long that you’re tripping over.
The exam miraculously went ok, thank you! I think so, anyway haha 😛
