great minds | cosy sweaters and thigh high socks

Brunette teen wearing plum coloured rollneck top from New Look

Hope everybody’s first week back has been as good as a rainy week in January can be!  Mine’s been pretty busy, but in a good way, and I’m feeling good vibes about life at the moment. :)  Might just be part of the whole New Year thing giving me false illusions, but I feel like my motivation’s come back lately, and I’m liking it!  Not that I ever dropped into complete laziness or anything, but I feel like I’d had my ‘oomph’ taken out of me a bit towards the end of 2015.  Like some kind of dilute, prolonged hangover or something.  I can’t describe it very well!  Maybe just plain end-of-year tiredness.  I still got stuff done but lost some of my 5:30am Duracell bunny style get up and go!  Anyway, I’m going along with the new year, fresh start placebo effect and getting my arse in gear.  Less of the foggy brain and ‘what did I actually do this morning?’, more get up early, get out, get home, get stuff done, have fun.  Not been giving myself motivational little pep talks or anything…

And here’s yesterday’s #OOTD, because today I’m wearing jeans, baggy white tshirt and frilly socks and that ain’t very exciting.  Nothing groundbreaking going on outfit-wise yesterday either but this is exactly what I wore to nip into town and run a few errands, in the interest of authenticity and that.  This one’s the jumper I tweeted about on Christmas morning – the one my mum and I bought identical versions of for each other. :)  There’s knowing each others taste or being on the same wavelength, and then just having the same brain!  Great minds and that.  Good choice though, on both our parts!  I’ve worn mine loads already, and the dipped hem is surprisingly useful for hiding a muddy bum after slipping on wet grass, I’ve found.  Just in case that’s useful to any other idiots.

These boots are one of my fave ‘blogger mails’ I’ve received – I’ve worn them SO much!  Love it when a brand just fits your style so well.  They’re my college shoes, weekend shoes, out for lunch shoes, nip to the shop shoes… you get me. Nice one, Jones Bootmaker. 🙂

About time I give myself one of those pep talks and get on with stuff now!
