Soft and cosy for today!  This dress has been patiently sitting in my wardrobe awaiting wear for quite some time now; I bought it to wear to a sports awards evening then realised that it was wayyy too revealing.  Given the length and the transparency of the fabric it wouldn’t have been a good idea!  However with dark tights and fuzzy layers, I think it makes a nice girly casual look.  Of course the handknits are coming out in full force now that the wind and cold are becoming ever more horrible,  and this silky mini Clapotis fit the bill for today.  I’m always thankful for the pile of handknit accessories we’ve made over the years when it’s this kind of weather!
I dyed my hair much darker you may notice! Â No matter what colour I dye it, I always seem to end up with a reddish tinge to my hair: not quite auburn but just enough to clash. Annoying. Â This time last year I used a colour remover to strip my hair and ended up with a mane literally the colour of a carrot, so I’m doing everything to avoid that mistake again! Â Hopefully last year’s broken arm and norovirus over Christmas won’t return this year either. Â *Touch wood *
The dress is from a little boutique in Windermere called Scarlett Ribbon by the way. Â Every time I’m in the Lakes I make time for a visit… I highly recommend! Â They have a lovely selection of vintage style pretties and accessories 🙂

16th December 2013 at 3:37 pmThat dress is really something! Super frilly and awesome. And it is great to see the knitwear too. I do like the darker hair too. You look great. I really like these photos too. I guess the dampness of the weather makes the colours of the leaves, the bare trees and the road look really saturated.
