End of season Topshop sale scores are fine by me!  I’ll find a way to make maxi dresses wintery so we’re good. 🙂 Well, when I say ‘maxi’ I actually mean ‘supposedly maxi’ or ‘maxi on most people and shin length on me’, but potAYto potAHto, same thing.  Shin length is good too.  Avoids the swishing round your ankles tripping danger that usually comes with longer lengths.  Or is that just me?  Anyway, I tried this one on and loved the fit so much I NEEDED it in both colours – and it was mega reduced so if that’s not a no-brainer then I don’t know what is.  I’ve barely taken it off since then cos y’know, comfy.  And now I’m gonna go change into the orange version.
dress: Topshop | sandals: New Look (black version no longer on website)
Thought I’d split my usual ‘what I’ve been up to this week’ paragraph into 2 (appropriate) categories for this post. Â Mix things up a bit.
Things for which I HAVEÂ worn this dress:
London. With an oversized white shirt and neater hair and humongous tote bag to fit ALL the things.
Train travel. Â We all know comfort is where it’s at. Â Those seats can be a pain in the… back themselves without uncomfortable clothes thrown into the mix. Â She says, pretending not to be someone who’ll endure a tight waistband or suffocating neckline if the outfit deems it necessary. Â (I totally will)
Working from home. Feels like pyjamas; looks like proper clothes.  Win win.
Nipping to the shop and hopefully not looking like I just rolled out of bed. Â When the corner shop is literally a 30 second walk away, let’s just say the staff there will see you at your worst.
Things for which I HAVEN’T worn this dress:
Scouting out the new AW fashion. Which, as it’s September next week, I have finally come to accept.  Love love love the 70s style autumn stuff, so I’m happy about that!  Flares are growing on me and I think the day I succumb may be soon.  And I only didn’t wear this dress as that was the day I actually found it, otherwise, I probably would’ve done.
Going for a picnic and getting bitten by flies. Or ants, or some other tiny creature, I’m not entirely sure.  Bites are bloody itchy whatever they come from.  *Tries to exert self-control and stop scratching arms*
The hardest spinning class I’ve ever been to. Â I say that after every second class, but holy crap that one was tough. Â High resistance is such a killer! Â I couldn’t actually walk once I stepped off the bike, and that was after almost falling off in the middle of the class. Â I much prefer stricter gym instructors to softer ones though; it feels far more worthwhile knowing you’ve been pushed to your absolute limits. Â Even if I hate them at the time.

30th August 2015 at 8:33 pmMy thoughts exactly when I first tried it on! I think I’ll wear it right through autumn and possibly into winter too – hopefully it’ll work under jumpers, we’ll see.
Thank you so much!
