A Girly Spa Night with Boohoo x Village Hotels | #WeAreSS17

Group of girls in jacuzzi

Any excuse to crack out the first bikini of the season and I’ll take it!  I am seriously craving some actual sun and warmth on my back right now I tell ya.  Grey skies are getting hella boring.  Sadly a pre-Spring trip to the Bahamas hasn’t presented itself yet, but Boohoo invited me along to their #WeAreSS17 launch with Village Spa which satisfied my bikini craving.  Still wouldn’t turn down a Bahamas trip though, if you’re offering!  After what turned into a bit of a manic day (always on manic days when your phone decides to randomly die at 40% battery too, isn’t it?) a chilled out evening was much appreciated.  Prosecco, spa time, chats with lovely ladies, a skincare workshop and nibbles sounded good to me.

I’m well aware that I’m getting prematurely excited about swimwear considering it’s y’know, February, but BooHoo offered us both a bikini and an excuse to wear it so I was obviously all game.  Since I didn’t actually own a plain black bikini (my basics game is obviously pretty poor) I went for a longline one with some strappy business going on in the back.  All about that strappy back.  Getting into the bikini top whilst it was dry was significantly easier than peeling it off once wet, but I made it out in the end!  I tend to prefer chunkier styles to string bikinis on me so this one ticked all the boxes.  Everyone had chosen so well, and none of us turned up in the same cossie which seemed pretty lucky!  I’m pretty sure all 9(?) of us squeezed in the jacuzzi at one point – maybe not quite the recommended way of doing things but fun nonetheless!

Blogger events are obviously a chance to do cool things with brands and try new stuff, but meeting other local bloggers is my favourite part.  There’s only so much fun can be had talking to people on Twitter and Instagram compared to real life convos!  Claire I’d already met lots of times, and Sarah I’d chatted to lots and lots, (but never met – what’s that about?) but everybody else it was lovely to meet for the first time.  It’s actually harder than you’d think to find others nearby!  I don’t mention where I live particularly often and neither do many bloggers, which is missing a trick come to think of it.  Any more fellow Preston/Lancs bloggers out there, holla!  I’m sure it’s different if you’re blogging in London where a whole lot more stuff happens IRL, but blogging from elsewhere in the country makes it a little trickier to find local blogger buddies.  So I’m very glad to have found these good’ens. 🙂

We could’ve quite happily chilled in the pool until reaching the raisin skin stage but had a workshop with ESPA skincare to hop out for.  Whilst I’m not guilty of sleeping with makeup on or reaching for makeup wipes at night, I probably don’t give my skin the attention it needs, so being talked through it all was great.  My skin felt positively glowing afterwards so that’s a good sign!  I’d quite like hot steamed mitts to wipe my face with every day please.

Of course soft lighting and candles make for a cosy and relaxing (to the point of almost sleep inducing) atmosphere, but make blog photos slightly difficult so excuse the next-day flatlay.  My skincare treats from ESPA have been used every day since and I’m about to give myself a cute navy mani with the Jessica nails goodies, but I’m yet to dirty these cute as hell unicorn brushes with foundation!  Maybe they’ll remain ornaments forever.

Thanks Boohoo for inviting me, and great to meet Claire, Sarah, Sabina, Amy, Chelsea, Anna, Irena, Emma & Jo from Boohoo & Ella from Village!  Oh and you can use code BOOHOO10 for 10% discount off treatments or food and drink at Village, and BOOHOOXVILLAGESPA20 for 20% off everything at Boohoo.  Enjoy. 🙂

Aww this looks like so much fun! Can’t say I’m quite as enthused about bikini season myself haha but then I don’t even own a bikini anymore! I love yours though, chunky styles are definitely better. Perhaps it’s time to start a new collection! xxx

We had such a lovely time! Chunky styles work so much better on me, string ones just look silly haha. Go for it, start bikini collecting!
