The next few days could go one of several very different ways for me!  Today I *hopefully* find out whether I got a pretty cool work opportunity, tomorrow is A-level results day, and Friday I’m attending (and assisting photographing) a wedding.  So… I could get the job and be super happy with my results… or I could not get the job and fail my A-levels.  Who knows!  Either way, at least I’ll have the wedding for a day of celebrations!

Regardless of whether this ‘opportunity’ comes to anything, the experience of the whole application process has been pretty valuable in itself.  I had to make a ‘covering video’ for starters – that’s one they never taught us in college.  Or even mentioned.  The world changes so quickly and education can’t always keep up, I guess!  I was asked to throw together a short video talking about why I’M THE GAL 4 U, which served as practice talking about myself to a camera, if nothing else.  My interview was definitely super valuable too – practice answering questions I wasn’t prepared for and articulating an answer on the spot, amongst other skills!  To be honest I’ve never actually had a ‘proper’ interview before, but I’m kinda glad my first one wasn’t just a 5 minute chat.  Straight in at the deep end and all that.

As far as results go, I think 5:30 tomorrow morning I’ll start to get a little antsy!  I haven’t had any ‘waking up in the middle of the night panicking that I answered the wrong question’ or anything though.  I can hardly remember anything about the exams, other than writing about the Irish potato famine on an American history paper and Core 2 maths being THE worst thing I ever did see.  Oh and the physics EMPA having a weird ass question about washers that literally everybody wrote different answers for.  Other than that though, I haven’t a clue!  If I don’t do as well as I’d like, then not gonna lie – I’d be pretty disappointed seeing as I doubt I could’ve feasibly worked harder without literally (well, almost literally) sacrificing my entire life to exams.  That said, grades aren’t the be all and end all, and there’s always resits!

Fingers crossed the next 3 days will bring lots of celebration.  Who knows!  Anyway, on to the dress.  Yes, another twirly one.  Girl can never have enough.  Blogger perks in the form of twirly dresses are fine by me. ;)  This one’s courtesy of the lovely team at Closet London, and I say lovely because they added a handwritten note and cute extra shopper bag in my parcel, and I’m easily impressed.  That and the fact that their dress collection is pretty damn good too, of course.  Something about the cool silhouette of this one caught my eye and no matter how many pages of pretty florals and brights I browsed, I kept coming back to this one.  My subconscious told me it MUST be mine.  Non-negotiable.  Because a hi-low-hem-sticky-out-cutout-dress is oh so versatile, yes?  That sounds sarcastic.  I’m not being sarcastic.  I reckon I can style it a bunch of ways over Autumn and Winter.

Back detail, yet again.  My choices are getting a bit predictable now, aren’t they?

Ooh I love this dress! You look absolutely stunning! I see what you mean about it being versatile for summer and winter, a great excuse to make a purchase 😉 thanks for sharing, I really struggle with in-between pieces!

I love it too! Thank yo so much 😀 I think it’ll look just as nice with patterned tights and chunky flat boots 🙂 I feel like I need a full wardrobe of ‘in-between’ pieces tbh – maybe one summer dress and one winter coat for the extreme weather, but England is pretty much ‘in-between’ weather most of the time anyway!

Ahhh, I know the feeling. I’m waiting for my As results to come out but we get them a little later than UK does. I’m nervous but at the same time, I just want to get it over with. I’m currently studying for my MOCKs right now and honestly, I also can’t wait for it to be over. Haha!

BY THE WAY! Gorgeous dress <3

I hope you get everything you wanted. I think that is a great dress. I love the silhouette, the fabric looks heavy and nubby, and the back detail is very charming. Personally, I am over the hi-lo hem, but It is still beautiful on you. In a few years, you could re-hem it flat, if desired.

Good luck for the job and theresults. Have a nice wedding and photo session.

Thank you Max! You’re right about the dress, it’s nice and weighty which is why I think it’ll transition well into winter. I thought I was over the hi-lo hem too, but this one isn’t too exaggerated so I still like it. Just not sure about maxi hi-lo styles.
The wedding was absolutely lovely thank you!

I’m hoping it’s all celebrations for you! I know you and one other person getting results today, and I will admit that I woke up this morning thinking “Results day!” and hoping that everything went well for everyone. 🙂
