I’ve seen these posts before and think they’re a great way of sharing little stories and updates, so here we go!
Reading… ‘The Book of Unholy Mischief’ by Elle Newmark. I’ve always loved reading books set in the distant past, and this story of 15th century Venice fits the bill perfectly for fitting a few chapters before bed. Now I just need to hurry up and finish it!
Playing… I didn’t succumb to the FlappyBird hype and I haven’t played any games on my iPod in ages! I’m embarrassingly bad at most games anyway.
Watching… Hardly any television at all; The Great British Sewing Bee and Dancing on Ice have been the extent of my TV viewing this week.  Couldn’t miss the last ever final of that one!
Trying… to properly do the splits. I’m almost there and I’ve been practicing everyday, so hopefully my split leaps at dancing should improve accordingly!
Cooking… Attempted Carbonara kinda thing. I looked up some recipes (from Pinterest, where else?) and made it up as I went along. Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. 😉
Eating… Dad’s homemade cottage pie. My dad is the master of mashed potato.
Drinking… Tea and water on repeat.
Calling… I haven’t had a good long chat on the phone in ages!
Texting… Very little, seeing as my phone contract is being stupid and none of my texts will send. Not happy ’bout that.
Pinning… Prom accessories! Dress = sorted, so now begins the search for shoes. Finding glam (ish) heels lower that 9cm is easier said than done, but any higher and a) I’d want to take them off after 10 minutes, and b) my dress would be too short.
Tweeting… #fbloggers #lbloggers etc., blog chats are the best. I’ve weaned myself away from social media a little this week to knuckle down with revision, but Sunday night will remain twitter time.
Crafting… these projects mentioned here. Although only a few rounds this week, sadly. Not gonna grow very quickly at this rate!
Scrapping… old t-shirts that can definitely be reincarnated into something better. My Spice Girls reunion tour t-shirt is first on the list to be pinterest-ified and chopped!
Doing… Jillian Michaels workouts in the morning. 6 Week 6 pack at 6am leaves my abs feeling nicely shredded for the rest of the day, which is a feeling I love. Very satisfying.
Going… most likely nowhere today, as I went to an 18th birthday party last night, and of course didn’t hit my bed until pretty far into this morning! Soooo today’s gonna be a low-key one.
Loving… (predictably) the pastel trends appearing in every shop window. In summer I’m usually clad in either bold colours or white, so maybe this year I’ll wear more of the few softer-toned pieces I own.
Hating… the ‘pool sliders’ trend. Eugh. They’re just plain ugly! I understand that fashion can be unconventional, but seriously?
Discovering… that sometimes the most interesting conversations can be had with total strangers. Last weekend I got chatting to a lovely lady on the bus home from town, and before our 20 minutes was up we’d covered a multitude of topics. Crafts (she makes beautiful mosaics!), films, books, her career, my future, the people-watching opportunities that public buses provide, and all sorts. I love getting to know people from all different walks of life even if only for a few minutes.
Enjoying… brighter, longer days! Enough said.
Thinking… about how I’ll miss the familiarity of high school, how everyone’s comfortable with everyone, how teachers feel like friends. Like I’ve mentioned before, I feel more than ready to move on and wave bye bye to secondary school, but nevertheless there are certain perks that I will definitely miss.
Feeling… like summer is only round the corner. I’m guessing the next few months will fly by and I’ll be in the thick of exams before I know it. At the minute I’m feeling fairly organised and fresh (that’s what a good spring clean does for ya!) so hopefully I’ll manage to continue in this clear and tidy way.
Hoping… to figure out a better schedule to incorporate more blogging into my week. I’d post every day if I had a Hermione Granger time-turner!
Listening (to)… Kodaline on repeat, seeing as I’m going to see them next week!
Celebrating… plenty of birthdays (and parties) in March, so I’m continuing to have a social life despite the revision. It wouldn’t be as effective without downtime, right?
Smelling… Faintly scented candles burning in my room. Since last weekend’s epic clearout I’ve added a few little touches to my room, including a couple of brightly coloured candles. They make a space feel much more finished and cosy!
Thanking… like I mentioned in my last post, I am really grateful to the teachers that stay behind at school to help us and donate a ton of their own time. Promise we’ll make it worth their while!
Considering… what I’ll do with myself once exams are over. This year will be the first that I’ll have a 9 week summer holiday, and I’m thinking that a week in the sun would be a good way to start. I can’t wait 😀
Finishing… nothing this week. Most of my coursework is over and done with and I haven’t finished any projects at home, but hopefully this will change in the near future!
Starting… hopefully gonna try my hand at a Pole Fitness class sometime soon! I’ve heard it’s really tough and leaves you with a few bruises but I’m looking forward to the challenge 😀

16th March 2014 at 7:25 pmIt sounds like you’ve got your plate full… I totally know what that feels like. Uni here runs Sept-May, so I’ve only got 3 weeks until my final exams.
I’ve also been watching the Great British Sewing Bee… it’s fantastic, although I’m not enjoying the second season as much as the first.
I’m super jealous that you’re going to see Kodaline… have an amazing time!

16th March 2014 at 8:18 pmI have indeed! Good luck with your exams – uni must require so much work and revision.
I miss Ann from the first series but I think Lynda is fab!
I’m so excited to see Kodaline! I’m sure I’ll have a fab time – thank you!

17th March 2014 at 1:17 amOoh, I loved Ann! She is so so talented and totally deserved to win. I also loved the things that Lauren made though.. she was so sweet and our styles are somewhat similar.
I think Lynda is my favourite this season although I also quite like Chinelo. The way she can sew without a pattern is really impressive.

16th March 2014 at 11:30 pm“Trying… to properly do the splits. ” BEST OF LUCK. I got so close a while back but then I stopped stretching on a daily basis. Damn motivation issues.
I always consider doing these but then I remember that I’m watching nothing… reading nothing (no longer true, that)… calling no one… listening to no music… It would be so boring. /o\
