it’s ok to feel… | telling yourself you’re doing fine

Brunete teen girl wearing Top Shop cut out dress

I think we all need a little self pep talk from time to time don’t we?  Little motivational speech given by yours truly, to yours truly.  It’s feels like ages since I wrote a really personal ‘here’s what I’m thinking’ style blog post, and I kinda miss writing them tbh!  So I thought I’d share my pep talk in written form, for myself / whoever needs a little pick-me-up to read.  🙂

— It’s OK if you’re constantly saying ‘I’m gonna do X Y and Z’ and only getting round to half the things you say you will.  Better to overestimate, right?

— It’s OK to feel 10x more confident in yourself when you have a tan, or a flick of eyeliner.   Superficial yeah, but if it helps, it helps!

— It’s OK to feel like you’re spreading yourself too thinly.  Trying to juggle everything at once can be difficult but it’ll be OK in the end!  You’re keeping doors open and being an all-rounder.  Think of it that way.

— It’s OK to not care what the label on your clothes says.  Some of my absolute favourite items (and ones that you guys seem to like too) are absolute bargains.  Doesn’t matter if you’re not fussed about labels at all.

— It’s OK if you feel like you’re not fulfilling your potential, yet.  You’ll get there!

— It’s OK to feel restless for no apparent reason.  Some days something just isn’t right, and you can’t put your finger on it.

— It’s OK to love the geeky TV programmes the most.  If I ever watch TV, it’ll either be the Great British Sewing Bee or some incredibly nerdy documentary.  Love me a good documentary.

— It’s OK to not want the same things as everybody else.  All your pals dying to move away to university and you have absolutely zero desire to go?  Perfectly fine.  Me too, come say hi!

— It’s OK to sometimes feel like the entire internet is conspiring against you.  Or like you just don’t know how to internet.  Or feel like an outsider on the internet.  Oh internet, what a babe you are.

— It’s OK to change your mind about what you want to do with your life every 5 minutes.  Probably won’t end up with the life you imagined anyway, so better to just go with the flow.  Each day at a time and all that.

This is really lovely, and definitely much needed! I’m being way too hard on myself about not getting stuff done recently, and I’ve been feeling really weird without knowing why! Sometimes, it’s good to just let it go x

Really needed to read this. Nearly everything you’ve put down on that list is something that I felt in the past or am feeling now! Don’t suppose you want to be my official conscious, do you? 😉 xxx

There should be more positive posts like this instead of “Buy this” “Get this” all over the internet 🙂 Got to admit, good ol’ documentaries have to be the best. By this point in my life I end up watching documentaries on bees, then murder mysteries and then giraffes so yeah it’s hard to explain to friends how that happens 😀
    My blog 🙂

I’ll be sure to write more then. 😀 The more random the documentaries the better! Documentaries about space, documentaries about tribes in Africa, documentaries about donkeys… anything goes 😀
