dressed down nye

Blogging in the afternoon feels slightly strange; I usually don’t hit publish ’til at least 10pm!  As there are only a few more days of the Christmas holidays before I’m back behind a school desk, so I’m making the most of time to have chilled-out time with the cat by my side.  Textiles coursework is my main plan for today: not too much of a chore as I can knit in front of the TV with twitter on hand!

Slightly late I know, but this was my outfit for celebrating 2014’s arrival with friends.  During the day my mum and I had hit the Trafford Centre in search of sales bargains, and I was hoping to find either a denim or black pleated skirt.  I’m not quite sure why, but for some reason I’d decided one of the two was needed!  Therefore finding this half denim, half black pleated number on the Topshop sales rails, I was of course very pleased.  Perfect for indecisive people like me!

Has anyone else bought tights and then been too scared to wear them?  This sheer pair was another Top Shop sales find, although with my tendency to rip tights by sitting on a sofa, I don’t trust myself!  No ladders yet though, so I’m a responsible adult now! ;D

Aren’t these animal charms adorable?  My mum was given this bracelet as a present for her 7th birthday, and it will always be one of my favourites!

Tasselled socks.  They spin and shake when I walk. Need I say more? 😀

Dressing up for NYE is obviously fun, but I do really love this fluffy crop jumper so didn’t go too glamourous!  It’s always difficult to know how ‘dressy’ to be (what’s better – over or under-dressed?), but I think I played it about right for an informal gathering with friends. Of course red lippie is never a bad idea too! Lips are Maybelline SuperStay in ‘Ravishing Red’, which is literally like superglue for lips!  It literally does not budge though, so I really can’t complain!
