Let’s have smiles by way of contrast to my last post, shall we? Honesty was needed and it felt good to get my thoughts down, but I’d like the blog to be a happy place in general so back to the chitchat about clothes and frivolous things it is. :D Bit of lighthearted stuff never hurt anyone!
For a £3 charity shop find I rather like this shirt, even if it is 20 sizes too big! On photographs it’s barely visible but there’s embroidery going on down the fronts, so it doesn’t just feel like I’m replacing my old school shirts with baggier ones.
shirt: Charity shop (but originally M&S) | jeans: Topshop Joni | shoes: H&M | lipstick:Â Maybelline Superstay 14 hour lipstick
Just about every teenage girl in the country has owned a pair of Joni jeans or their equivalent so no originality here! As far as comfy jeans go they’re pretty much unbeatable, to the point where I actually fell asleep on the sofa wearing mine the other day and stayed there all night. Jonis = the nearest to denim pyjamas we’re gonna get. Probably not the glammest of things to admit but hey ho!
Brown hair was boring me. I never quite got round to trying the blue or purple locks I had in mind for over summer, but I thought a little auburn would be an ok middle ground for now. Spend ages waiting to get back to my natural colour, then dye it again soon after. Logic. :) I kinda wish a was a natural redhead; for some reason I think it’d suit my personality! The one time I did try, it ended with highlighter orange shade mop though (in pre-blogging days, thankfully), so I’m not gonna try full on ginger again any time soon. The grass is always greener haha.
I managed to keep the headscarf in place for a whole 10 minutes before starting to look ridiculous, hence the disappearance halfway through. Another item to add to the ‘things I like the style of but they don’t like me’ list me thinks.
The background of these shots is probably one of my favourites so far, as the car park/grassy sand dunes combo is a pretty unusual one. Like I’ve said before, I love finding new places and spaces, and the beach round the corner of course had me ditching the heels for a nosey. I love the fact that in the UK, you’re never that far from a beach: a benefit to living in little England I suppose 😀

15th September 2014 at 3:42 amThose sand dunes! I love them too. I’ve been to similar ones on that same coast at St. Anne on Sea. I like the windswept beachy look and blue and white really are a good combo.

19th September 2014 at 1:14 pmI’m really glad you stopped by my little blog and left your comment, otherwise I wouldn’t discovered your blog! I’m very much enjoying your posts and I adore your style writing. You’ve gained a new follower from now on!
It’s nice to discover new things in charity shops! I love a little browse there myself, last year I found an amazing summer/autumn jacket from M&S myself and it’s my top favorite jacket style for work. I can’t even tell your shirt is bigger size, perfectly styled.
