backless

First things first – I’ve decided I’m gonna give Blogmas a shot this year, so (attempt to) blog every day in the lead-up to Christmas.  Very much a decision made on a whim.  I saw a bunch of other people were doing Blogmas/Vlogmas and #FOMO kicked in so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon, ngl.  Whether I’ll actually manage it or not is another story, but I’ll give it a go!

I thought I’d start Blogmas with another ‘dressy’ outfit (read: a dress) because Party Season and that.  I seem to have started a little series (see here and here) so might as well roll with it!  Any excuse to wear a strappy backless dress, basically.   I’d quite happily take loads from the Pretty Little Thing website, but this one jumped out to me as something very, very, ‘me’, but different to anything I already own.  Something I’d pin a million versions of on Pinterest, but didn’t actually have in my wardrobe.  Until now I think the only long slinky dress I owned was my prom dress (still not found an excuse to crack that one out again – sob) but now it has a friend.

I’d say this one (the ‘Hanna‘ dress) is just a nice amount of exposed – enough to feel that it’s something special and glam, but not too much to feel self conscious.  It can feel like a fine line, but there’s nothing wrong with edging near it sometimes haha.  Long soft skirt with a skimpy-ish top balances out nicely.  For me, anyway.  Some people might not like showing more than an inch of skin (and look great); some might be happy to show off their legs and back and arms and cleavage all at once (and also look great).  Shouldn’t really have anything to do with age or body type or anything like that – just whatever you’re comfortable in!

So that’s Blogmas off to a glamourous start!  I’ll be back in my knitwear soon. :)  Tell me about your fave ‘dressy’ outfit now you’ve seen a few of mine!

A very glamourous start to Blogmas and Advent. I like this dress a lot and I may wear it to the right occasion. It is rather bare up top, but it hides the midriff which is an area I am more self-conscious about. Mainly it looks super on you, just it is not a complete no for me.

Of your outfits I rather like this one and the red wedding guest dress of the summer. Your blue cris cross is my favourite, but is that more casual?

Oh gosh, yes! That outfit is amazing Lily! I don’t have any backless dresses, I don’t wear them but they look stunning on you! Wow! <3

[…] birthdays so double birthday celebrations!  Any excuse to wear this long dress and I’m all over it.  I was pretty happy with how my makeup turned out too, if I do say so […]
